Prof. Kamal Abdel-Malek
Visiting Professor, Hebrew University Raised in Alexandria, Egypt, and educated in Montreal, Kamal Abdel-Malek is Professor of Arabic literature, researcher, and translator.
He received his Ph.D. in Arabic and Islamic Studies at McGill University in Canada and taught at Princeton and Brown universities. While at Brown University he contributed to and taught in the Brown University Program in Israeli and Palestinian Studies in Jerusalem. Recently he was a visiting scholar at Harvard University, and at present a visiting professor at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem where he co-teaches, with Prof. Elie Podeh, a course on “Egyptian-Israeli Encounters in Modern History, Literature, and Cinema.
