Born in 1960 in Morocco, Jamal Amiar pursued political science and international studies in Aix-en-Provence, Paris and New York.
His professional life has mainly been dedicated to teaching in the USA and in Morocco, and working for various media outlets in The USA and Morocco. Lots of his work and reports has been dedicated to political and development issues in the Maghreb, mostly Morocco and Algeria, and in the Middle East, mainly issues related to peace-building between Israelis and Palestinians, and Israelis and Arabs.
His book -Le Maroc, Israël et les Juifs marocains; culture, politique, diplomatie, business et religion- published in French in Paris in 2022 with a second edition in 2023, deals with the Moroccan Jewish heritage past and present, and Moroccan-Israeli relations since the Fifties, and their future in the new context of the Abraham Accords.
